Two bills. Work out both.
Meta charges for the messages; the software charges for the tool. Most calculators blend them into one number. This one shows you both.

How it is worked out
No arithmetic you cannot check.
Meta's share is the number of messages delivered multiplied by Meta's rate for that category and destination. There is no volume discount on marketing messages, so that multiplication is the whole of it. Utility and authentication messages do have volume tiers, which means a large monthly volume of those will come in under a flat multiplication.
Our share is the same count multiplied by the per-message rate your top-up earned. The rate is locked when money is blocked for a broadcast, so topping up part-way through improves what comes next and never reprices what you already approved.
Both numbers are ceilings, and deliberately. Messages that are never delivered are never charged by either of us — an audience of ten thousand does not send ten thousand messages once the unsubscribed, the unparseable and the dead numbers come out. Whatever you are quoted before a send, the charge afterwards is that or less.
What this does not include
- Replies from your team, which carry no fee from us — though since 1 October 2026 Meta charges for them beyond 1,000 per number per month.
- Messages your customers send you, which are free and always have been.
- Anything a provider charges monthly, per seat, or to set up. We charge none of those, and most providers charge at least one.
Questions
Asked while budgeting.
How much does it cost to send 10,000 WhatsApp messages?
It is two costs added together. Meta charges for delivering each message at a rate set by category and destination country, billed to the business directly. The software used to send them charges separately — as a subscription, a per-message fee, or both. For 10,000 marketing messages to Indian numbers, Meta’s share is the large majority of the total and the software share is typically a small fraction of it.
Why does this calculator ask me for Meta’s rate instead of knowing it?
Because Meta sets that rate, revises it up to four times a year, and bills the business directly for it. A calculator with a rate card baked in gives confidently wrong answers a quarter after it was built. The field is pre-filled with an indicative figure and is meant to be replaced with the rate on your own account.
Do undelivered WhatsApp messages cost money?
No. Meta charges on delivery, so a disconnected number, a switched-off handset and somebody who has blocked the business all cost nothing. A calculator based on list size therefore always overestimates: the real bill is for the messages that arrived.
